Photo Contest Philosophy

The site philosophy is simple. Those who have proven success have more voice over those seeking success.

In order for any photography contest to function, there must be someone to rank the images. DailyAwards.com is fundamentally peer-review but weighted to allow those who have repeatedly proven success in the photo contests more power when voting on others.

The best way for you to succeed is not to focus on your account weight so as to have more influence in the photography contest, but rather to focus on the quality of images you enter into the photo contest.

Remember, DailyAwards.com is a photo contest, not a contest of account weight.

Explore the community

Visit the forum and explore discussions around photography, the photography contests, the site awards or whatever is relevant for the day. Post your own questions and improve your photography skills then compete in the photography contests.

Visit the articles section and learn from other photographers by reading articles about photography. If you become a subscriber you can post your own articles.

Don't be subject to subjectivity

Every award at DailyAwards.com is based solely on image score. Image score is calculated from votes your image collects from the rest of the community. There is no formal judging at DailyAwards.com. Each person is assigned a user weight, this weight determines how much impact that person has when voting in the photography contest.

A perpetual photo contest

When you upload your images, they automatically go into the perpetual photography contest where other users will rank them. Should you win a top photography contest, your image will appear on the home page, along with a link to your web site, for the duration of that contest!

In addition to the primary photography contests, you can compete and win daily within categories.

Win the photo contests and increase your rank

If you haven't done so, create an account, upload some of your best images and vote in the photography contests! As you accumulate awards and cast votes for others, your vote weight will increase. As your vote weight increases, your vote counts more when the image rank is calculated. Visit the about page for details about the photography contest system.

Climb the ladder

In addition to winning photography contests and gaining a higher user weight, you can see how you and your images are performing relative to other photographers in the system. Visit the Top 300 list to see where you rank! The more photography contests you win, the closer you get to number 1

Photo Contests and Challenges

In addition to competing in the photo contests, you have the option to compete in a photo challenge. The photo challenges allow you to find a topic that interests you (or suggest your own topic) and then go out and get that perfect photo that nets you the award.
