I'll not quote the whole message for brevity's sake but let me see if I can clear up some things.
First off I don't think we are all that far apart in concept. We both believe that One should vote their vote and give and receive feedback with an open mind. We also agree that personal responsibility defines the person.
Where we disagree is largely on the wisdom of judging and "correcting" others behaviors. I'm guessing that where Wemor was saying that he had seen a lot of water pass under the bridge he was referring to past disagreements that once aired changed nothing. Some of the people that you hold up as shining examples of participation have been on the the other side of the same argument. Many, if not most, of the participants in the forum today, as well as many that no longer participate, have been embroiled in some form of richeous indignation about one thing or another. I too am guilty of the same (as if wanting to have a more perfect place is wrong). The cold hard fact is that in each case there was no winner. Little has changed and much of what has changed has later been the source of exactly the same sort of debate. Do I toss my hands in the air? No, I rather think of it as learning tolerance. Some of the people that I thought of as being so wrong turned out to be less wrong than I thought. Does that mean that I think of them a virtuous? No, I just learned that they are what they are not Virtue-less.
I agree that it is somewhat sad that society is the way it is both here and in the real world. I think much of the frustration that people feel is born from a belief that they have more of a say in changing this society than they do in the real world. I'm afraid that is not the case.
Just for clarity's sake I do believe that people are whipped into voting with the masses. Were I to get a dollar for every time someone said that they had modified their voting scale or suggested that others modify theirs I'd be a rich man. There is, in this society, a pressure to conform to "the" scale and it is both open and implied. The curious part is that if you participate in many of these sites you learn that "the scale" is different at each place.
There will always be a handful of people thinking they are wronged and a handful of others that think themselves superior and frequently the sides change roles. They are the outliers not the norm.
So much for brevity.

Let us not forget what motivates individuals...

One may have a rule for or against rfc's and votes but I always think that for those of you who rule against rfc's you very well forget that those requesting may think differently .because one person take something one way does not mean that is how the other person meant it..

Some of us have a desire and passion to throw every ounce of ourselves into learning...and for some of us,,those votes are very very important as well as the RFC...they were given to us as tools to use and just because we try and take advantage of that for our learning's sake does not mean we are complainers about votes and comments,,a point which I feel continuously gets looked over,,it is a matter of personality...Another situation is that Newbies take time to understand the long run and only time and experience will shed some light..A bit of patience , and teaching usually warrants for learning .

I respect other's feelings about such things and to reiterate myself again,,,a little more repsect the other way should be in order...then we must each be willing to accept the others feelings and go on about our mission perhaps without resolve.

Yes there are those here who have seen much water go under the bridge but those too must understand that those who have not are not in the same disposition which may only come about with time.

I truly feel that for those who do not practice with ethics, well what goes around comes around and that this is something I personally do not have control over nor want control over.

It was suggested to contact a photog directly for advice and opinion..well that is what the RFC is for,,If you want to improve your skills and you see you get 6's from the same voter over and over again,  sometimes we want to go after that voter and impress them by improving our skills..so we rfc so that we can someday "impress" that voter...as that will have lended us to attaining a personal goal..not hound or ask for justification..

I myself have averaged higher scores from many here but there have always been those who habitually give me 6's still..it is those voters who I know I must improve for as then, I will have truly reached a milestone...and so when a request is ignored , I cannot help but feel displaced...Geesh   I am honest and have integrity and only want to learn,,why will you not help me ..you are able to keep giving a 6 or less but not advice or opinion..Forgive me truly for expecting that you would help..I was caught up in my quest for knowledge ,,not beratement or accusation..I say this with humility and in hopes that you will truly understand how some feel towards these issues...

yes we must accept everyone's opinions and for the most part do..Yes their are flaws and yes we are all people who must work to get along,,it is give and take..

But enough from the Tonka diaries.

Just my way of thinkin on it.

edited I had to switch "comes" with "goes"

Wow. Talk about off topic. If I'd been around this weekend and see this develop I would've closed this early on. I'm now closing this thread because the majority of posts have nothing to do with the original post.
