eninja2k (6/8/2007)Don't you get it?
YES! I think so... Why don't you?
eninja2k (6/8/2007)It's not about the 6!!! It's about the people ARE VOTING 6 on purpose and not because the image deserves it. I am not the only one complaining about this. If I was I would take responsibility for it and move on.
I vote 6 a lot. 56% of my votes are 6 or less. I have a good idea who you are inferring too here and I get a variety of votes from them ranging 5 to 10's. I see the same when I review votes of other images. I disagree with you that anyone is voting a 6 all the time. They my be voting six a lot. A lot of those votes may be falling on your images. If an image does not strike a cord with a voter, yet has no real photographic flaws the I think that a six is a fair vote. (some would say seven was fair there, others might say a five).
What you call being a martyr may be that in your eyes. To me, it's choosing not to play a game that is not being played fairly.
I liken it to someone being in a relationship that is abusive.
If you wish to choose not to play the game, fine. Take your ball and go home. It has been done before and we will miss your voice in the choir. The martyr aspect stems for the need to announce your new position of nonparticipation.
You have to be willing to see past the "6" and that I am complaining about a low score. I'm not. I am complaining about (what many else are) people who do it for no other reason than to feel better about themselves when they get a higher score.
Would you be saying the same thing if someone/anyone (allegedly) voted 7 all the time?
If you don't think that's what's going on, take the wool off your eyes, my man. Because maybe some of my images deserve some 6's but is it a coincidence that it's the same TWO people on every image.
Coincidence, no. I suspect that your image was viewed as a six when they voted. And as for voting six on EVERY IMAGE - there would be no point. If you voted the same for every shot, be it 1, 6 or 10 you effectively nullify your vote altogether. Voting one rating for every image - and doing it across many (ALL!) images effectively cancels you vote out. In the long run, your vote would have NO SAY in determining the awards at all.
On two of the images I got an 8 and 9 from RICHARD HAHN! He also gave me a 7 on one.
Good, that is an accomplishment, he has a sharp eye! enjoy your success. Still, you cannot expect everyone to see (and rate) every image the same.
THESE TWO PEOPLE GAVE ME 6'S ON ALL THREE! So, wake up, dude! These are trouble makers...Who by the way ignore comment requests as well.
So, voting a lot of sixes and not answering comment request makes you a "Trouble Maker". Well then add me to the list.
This site is about competitively reviewing and rating submitted photographs. There is much to much attention being focused on individual VOTEs & VOTERs. I don't find it to be productive. The focus should be on the IMAGES. Best of luck... WE
