WOW coach!  Don't sugar coat it.  Tell us how you really feel. Is this how you talk to your Relationship Team?  What is your record this season?

Nothing wrong with a six vote - GET OVER IT!  The world (and DA) have enough martyrs...   WE

If I left for all the 6's I've recieved, I would have been gone months ago.

And if I stayed for all the 10's I've recieved, I would have been gone months ago.

Go figure...

JMO...Vote what you feel without feeling pressured to vote according to how everyone else feels is right or wrong. No one can be wrong in 'opinion' if they are being 'honest'.

Have a great weekend all!

Don't you get it? It's not about the 6!!! It's about the people ARE VOTING 6 on purpose and not because the image deserves it. I am not the only one complaining about this. If I was I would take responsibility for it and move on.
There is an old saying in my industry...If one person calls you an ***, it could be that person's perception. If two call you an ***, you'd better look at yourself a little closer. If 10 call you an ***, BUY A SADDLE, HONEY!

What you call being a martyr may be that in your eyes. To me, it's choosing not to play a game that is not being played fairly.
I liken it to someone being in a relationship that is abusive. Sometimes they stay because they don't want to be alone. That's down-right stupid! For some, it's more important to be happy than to be "with someone" and they get out. Make sense?

As far as my "season", I guess for nearly 20 years people have been hiring me so depending on what you mean by a "season", I'd say it's been pretty good.

You have to be willing to see past the "6" and that I am complaining about a low score. I'm not. I am complaining about (what many else are) people who do it for no other reason than to feel better about themselves when they get a higher score. If you don't think that's what's going on, take the wool off your eyes, my man. Because maybe some of my images deserve some 6's but is it a coincidence that it's the same TWO people on every image. On two of the images I got an 8 and 9 from RICHARD HAHN! He also gave me a 7 on one. THESE TWO PEOPLE GAVE ME 6'S ON ALL THREE! So, wake up, dude! These are trouble makers...Who by the way ignore comment requests as well.

So, I am not being a martyr. I am "refusing to throw the fight in order to make more money" from the change in odds. It's called integrity.

Later, Boss!

So are you saying that all I've ever given you are 6's?

Just thought everyone would find these examples interesting.

Yea...That was in the last two days as you have been on your high voting rampage that caused all this stir. Thanks for your votes. Thanks also for trying to prove me wrong in front of everyone because it's so important for you to be right. Doesn't matter to me anymore. I think you are an average photographer at best. Maybe you know it and that's why you need to play these games. Bottom line, I contribute more than you do here in terms of helping others. I will continue to do so because that's more important to me than image scores. That's the difference between giving and taking.
I won't enter anymore images because I don't want to be mocked. I want to learn and improve and that can't happen when people aren't honest. That's cool. There are people here that I respect that give me their opinion and are far better photographers than you so I will just listen to them.

Oh and by the way....EGO IS THE BIGGEST ENEMY OF ART!

eninja2k (6/8/2007)Don't you get it?

YES! I think so... Why don't you?

eninja2k (6/8/2007)It's not about the 6!!! It's about the people ARE VOTING 6 on purpose and not because the image deserves it. I am not the only one complaining about this. If I was I would take responsibility for it and move on.

I vote 6 a lot.  56% of my votes are 6 or less.  I have a good idea who you are inferring too here and I get a variety of votes from them ranging 5 to 10's.  I see the same when I review votes of other images. I disagree with you that anyone is voting a 6 all the time.  They my be voting six a lot. A lot of those votes may be falling on your images. If an image does not strike a cord with a voter, yet has no real photographic flaws the I think that a six is a fair vote. (some would say seven was fair there, others might say a five).

What you call being a martyr may be that in your eyes. To me, it's choosing not to play a game that is not being played fairly.
I liken it to someone being in a relationship that is abusive.

If you wish to choose not to play the game, fine. Take your ball and go home. It has been done before and we will miss your voice in the choir. The martyr aspect stems for the need to announce your new position of nonparticipation.

You have to be willing to see past the "6" and that I am complaining about a low score. I'm not. I am complaining about (what many else are) people who do it for no other reason than to feel better about themselves when they get a higher score.

Would you be saying the same thing if someone/anyone (allegedly) voted 7 all the time?

If you don't think that's what's going on, take the wool off your eyes, my man. Because maybe some of my images deserve some 6's but is it a coincidence that it's the same TWO people on every image.

Coincidence, no. I suspect that your image was viewed as a six when they voted.  And as for voting six on EVERY IMAGE - there would be no point.  If you voted the same for every shot, be it 1, 6 or 10 you effectively nullify your vote altogether.  Voting one rating for every image - and doing it across many (ALL!) images effectively cancels you vote out.  In the long run, your vote would have NO SAY in determining the awards at all.

On two of the images I got an 8 and 9 from RICHARD HAHN! He also gave me a 7 on one.

Good, that is an accomplishment, he has a sharp eye! enjoy your success. Still, you cannot expect everyone to see (and rate) every image the same.

THESE TWO PEOPLE GAVE ME 6'S ON ALL THREE! So, wake up, dude! These are trouble makers...Who by the way ignore comment requests as well.

So, voting a lot of sixes and not answering comment request makes you a "Trouble Maker".  Well then add me to the list.

This site is about competitively reviewing and rating submitted photographs.  There is much to much attention being focused on individual VOTEs & VOTERs.  I don't find it to be productive.  The focus should be on the IMAGES. Best of luck... WE

If I was the only one complaining about these people in particular, you might have some valid points. There are a HANDFUL of people who notice THESE PARTICULAR people vote the same vote a lot and THOSE people say THOSE votes are BELOW average. Doesn't matter what you think. Fact, is many people and that included photographers way better than myself are having the same issue with these people. And, I happen to know it is personal. You are speculating...I know for a FACT they have something personal against some people here. I also know that they have done other unethical and inappropriate things for a FACT! You are either ethical or you are not. Most people don't float in between. So, think what you like. Spout your opinion as much as you like. When the truth comes out, there will be one of us who was making things up and one who knew what was really going on.

Other than that. Thanks for all your input and advice. It was all very good..........................
