Congratulations to Andy Smylie for his winner in the Nature category for 6/7/2007. It is a replacement for the previous winner which was deleted and resubmitted by the owner.

And I bet I can guess who the previous winner was.  It's a shame it has come to that. But I was telling my wife this morning, the majority of the members here are people of great integrity and skill, and that's why I participate.  Thanks to all of you who fall in that category.

Yes. I have to agree and give a hand to Rich for his integrity & skill. It is one thing to be good at what you do and quite another to be humble and willing to help others who look up to you. It's another level yet to be willing to make a personal sacrifice in order to show that your values are stronger than your desire to be on top. It's rare to find people like this.

I actually have spent a good deal of my life trying to give this lesson to people because I think it's shows strength in character and will provide for much better quality of life. It's indeed rare to find someone who knows and practices this on a daily basis!

WELCOME TO THE NEXT LEVEL!

Who is the greater manipulator?  The person who casts an overly generous vote of 10, or the person who removes an image so that another image will win an award?

WillPat.... What are you saying??? Richard deleted an image because he thought it got an unfair advantage when someone gave it a 10 with in sincere motives.... En has commend Richard's actions; I do as well.....

WillPat, are you just trying to "manipulate"????

just a thought,
Daniel

This is the only post I'll make regarding this.

To say that my vote was insincere is a bald faced lie. Period...end of discussion.
I've asked Eric to fully investigate the harassment .

My post was more of a rhetorical question than a criticism of either the person who voted the 10 or the person who removed the image.  One could ask how does a person know that a vote is "insincere"?, or one could ask if it's proper to remove an image so that it does not win when the voters have placed it high enough to earn an award?  Similarly, one could question the motives of someone casting a vote of 10?  However, that would be a little harder to rationalize when the image is about to earn an award.

But I would prefer that my post was taken as an attempt to get people to think about what actions are considered as manipulative, and who has the right to fiddle with the outcome of our competitions?  And I'll again take this as an opportunity to point out the consequences of the excessive amount of transparency in the current voting system.

No offense, but how could removing your own image from competition ever be categorized as unethical? That's completely ridiculous to even bring up. You always have the option to remove any image you submit for any reason. This post of yours makes me think you're just trying to provoke Richard.

Just to let you know, this whole thing is quite upsetting to me. I will probably no longer upload any images to this site for award purposes. I got two more 6 votes from the same two people who always vote 6 no matter what. Despite one image having ALL 7s 8s and 9s these two people insist on voting 6. It's too bad you have to continue to punish others for your lack of willingness to improve. I had terrible images when I first got here and since then I have been trying really hard to improve myself. Those two people who always vote 6 have voted 6 when my images weren't that good and now that I feel they are good.

Well, i hope you're happy with yourselves. It's too bad your lives suck so much that you have to resort to the childish, ridiculous games that you are playing. I feel sorry for anyone who is unfortunate enough to be in any type of relationship with you people because, although I haven't told anyone this before here, I have been a relationship coach for nearly 20 years. I am an expert in human behavior and all I can tell you is that it's too bad that you are more concerned about yourself than helping others improve, which by the way IS the key to happiness. You TAKERS will always be unhappy and lonely outside of the anti-depressants you are probably on to help you cope with the failed relationships in your life.

Richard is a good person. He has something that some of these people will never have. He is a giver and has integrity and strong character.

I have made some friend on this site and I will continue to contribute in the forums and with the weekly challenges but I have uploaded my last images for award consideration.

Congratulations on pushing one more person out of your lives. I know for a FACT you are used to it. Because selfishness begets selfishness and you are either lonely or in a tormented relationship with ZERO intimacy and ZERO REAL love. Must suck to be you!
