Ok, I found out that I was being investigated? (I don't know if that's the right word) for "Conflict of Interest".  Apparently a lot of my votes are too high.  The block has been taken off, but it has caused me to re-evaluate my voting techniques.  So if you receive a vote from me and it's lower than what you're used to seeing - it's because of that.

For those of you that I did vote higher on, I still think you all ROCK!

Lisa, I'm sorry this happened to you. Just call 'em as you see 'em. You are entitled to use any voting scale you find fair and objective.

There will always exist the whining, moaning, "misery loves company" sub-group who will attempt to drag down everyone else to their level, rather than work on improving their own photography. Lisa, I'm afraid you have been the victim of their petty jealousy. Glad you were exonerated.

Not related to anything you did Lisa, but there have been some unusual things happening in the image voting during the past week or so. I am documenting the pattern voting. If it continues unabated, there will be ample cause to report the behavior. Hope we don't have to do this. It's an issue of recidivism.

So Big Brother's watching your voting trends? I wonder if the opposite has applied before. Does anyone know if any members has had any restrictions on their voting because they vote too low?

Was it the "system" or did someone complain?  And... who complains about getting "High Votes".   And...   Should not the "investigation" take place before the "BLOCK" is activated.  And...  Should not the person being "blocked" at least be notified that they are "BLOCKED".   And... Who are the "voting police" anyway?

I REALLY DON'T LIKE THIS...   WHO WILL BE NEXT???

I dont know why Lisa is voting too high?  She is a fine artist with wonderful photos and her eye should be appreciated!!

Now if Lisa is a "high voter" and will now start voting lower,,then shouldnt those regular low voters have to start voting higher?

it seems that eric might want to devise a way of systematically determining aberrant voting patterns.... (among his hits will be DA member who have a genuine preference for some styles, but also, strategic voting may be found)... he could simply wait until potential problems are brought to his attention, but a systematic approach might be appropriate, as a compliment to this system lisa encountered....

lisa i'm glad this was resolved for you....

just a thought,
daniel

If you look at this last week's posts, it seems that there are several threads in various areas of forum that are interconnected, to some degree or other.  All seem to be related to voting patterns, voting anomalies, voting strategies, or voting peculiarities.  If you kick over enough stones..............
