| I think I would try to find a way to eliminate the three background buds and let the foreground blossoms stand up on their own. The bright but oof buds don't add much to the shot but the main blossoms show well.

Tonka (6/4/2007) How did you add more space btw..?
Well, I selected the darkest part of your picture as my background
color and then I increased the canvas size to 125% of yours.
Increasing the canvas size automatically uses the background color
to create new space.
Then I rotated it 45 degrees clockwise. Doing that created even more space which again uses the background color.
After that I selected all of the dark (blackish) area and then
used SELECT - MODIFY - CONTRACT to reduce the selction by
5 pixels. Then I set the selction FEATHER to 4 pixels and
then I applied Gaussian Blur as needed in order to make sure
my newly added dark area blended nicely with yours. I did
some other stuff to make your stems fade into the new area as well.
Then I cropped and added a pinch of salt to taste...
I didn't do anything to the detail....but increasing the yellow
saturation may have caused it to appear less detailed in the
heart of the flowers...

| Okay..thanks again Niki... But here's the thing,,,the oof buds are part of the dof, so this is just a personal liking?...Like I said , I had a version without the two on the right and it didnt have that wavy flow to it...so this is just taste?
Now this here I just put some color into it..there are some areas which need a clone and there is a distracting bud at the bottom but do you like this comp. better?

Personally, I liked the older version much better than this newer one. I liked the OOF flowers being on both sides
to balance out that particular comp.
The faded yellow overlay (or whatever it is) is not appealing
to me at this moment.
I'll look again later...maybe it will grow on me?

I'd like to comment that I really liked the out of focus buds. I just thought that sacrificing (note the word because I think they make the shot what it is) one to get the main focus off-center would be beneficial.
