Lovely shot Cherie. Only thing I can think of is that I would have sacrificed one of the out of focus flowers to put the main flower off-center. Other than that it's beautiful.

| Hi MTC..I agree with Zeke, it is a very nice shot, the two out of focus flowers on the right would be better not in the frame leaving the main flowers off centre, just my opinion..........still a good shot....j

If it were mine I might have done this...
Rotate 45 degrees and make a less elongated
crop. (Edit: Also wanted to give the flower on
left some breathing room.)
Decrease green slightly in curves.
Increase yellow saturation slightly.
Reduce unnecessary blue saturation because,
although it is difficult to see, there is some bluey
fringing around the edges of the OOF flowers.

Still, I thought it was good like it was and think
I would have given it an 8.

Hey thanks you two.. ..I tell ya,,, I was going for a more sophisticated and difficult composition here...kinda like those still shots that everyone likes so much but I did it outside.. I wanted more of a full composition , different than my usual comps. I had to really try hard not to have the "wayward" buds in the bkrnd..which..of course I personally like a lot but others may find distracting. So I had to gently bend all the other leaves/buds and blooms out of the way which , this was in full bloom so not too easy..and natural daylight as well.. I did do another one where I cut out those two buds on the right but it just did not "flow" as nicely overall in my mind...I had asked advise previous to this one and so I thought I had an "EPIPHANY" LOL on a pleasing composition done outdoors ,natural light with minimal editing...it ended up with a 7.2/3 ish score and so I sat here befuddled for awhile...certainly not that that isnt respectable but I was like.."Oh I really did a good comp. job on this one this time!! ".. I thought maybe clarity was just a little missing but never know with these things cause some like em softer than others...ah well... I appreciate your input!!

I tend to agree with the previous comments. It's a fine photo but the shape of the frame wider and less height looks a little awkward. You could snip off most of the right side to give a more "normal" size frame and any part of flowers that were left could be cloned out. I think it's more of a proportion thing IMO.

Oh Niki you snuck that in ..I cannot believe I didnt try turnin the comp on this..it is a trick I use often ..*slap the forehead*.. I like it much better that way...the color is a bit improved but the details on the centers are a little lacking now in your version ... and no I didnt even notice any blue edges.. ... But that angle is gorgeous!! and the colors are more pleasing !! thanks..now that I feel like a big duh lol..!! Cool

| Good thinking outside the Box (or frame in this case), Niki. Looks really good oriented like that.
