| Daniel, I don't feel that I have a bias for my own work, rather the opposite. I am always the hardest one on myself. I have always been a good judge of any works of art. I know when I produce a 5 and I know when I produce a 10 (which is not very often on the 10, much more often on the 5). I consider "your work" far superior to any of mine. You seldom produce one that I don't care for. If my thinking is that of a blind man then perhaps I should reconsider my earlier decision from this morning and continue to vote 7 on snapshots. 5' and 6's on my images then tells me that my work is less quality than a snapshot. But then, what would be my motivator for uploading images? Would you say that my images are less quality than snapshots? Perhaps they are in fact and I really am a blind man. Ouch!!

Sorry Deborah if i miss understood you.... I got a 5-vote from you on the image i post a link to here (hope it works)... I thought it not a snapshot, and was not seeing fatal flaws.... Not perhaps my best shot, but i thought OK.... so given your comment this morning, i was worried and confused.....

| Sneaky !!! Why didn't I think of doing that. When my first votes are always low then creep up after those. Thanks for the tip. (Maybe the early voters will mark them even lower as they've already seen them)

| Well Daniel, that image is absolutely gorgeous!!! An 8 or 9 on my voting scale. keep in mind i'm not a pro, but that image has excellent qualities, nicely done!!! JMO I agree with alot of what is being posted here... but a snapshot to one is not a snapshot to another. And I also agree that some spectacular images are getting lower than average scores...

...the 5 came in just after i posted it, so i deleted the image and reposted it!!!! daniel So, if anyone votes an image low in the first few votes the photographer deletes them - after that, the system takes over and eliminates any other chance of a low "outlier" vote... Makes me wonder how any "low" vote ever gets through! WE

| Perhaps I should clarify just exactly what kind of image I personally consider a snapshot since I never pointed any finger to any image. See 2 images below that I consider snapshots. These images show no real photographic knowledge. I see red eye, out of focus and a non pleasing to the eye images. These images appear to me to be no more than point and shoot with any old point and shoot camera. This is exactly where every photographer starts. For me personally, I do not think that these images deserve a 7 vote. (when 5.5 is the score for the average photographer) I think that a 2 or 3 is an okay vote for this quality of image. If you disagree, that is your right; this is my personal opinion.
