Hey Janie I don't have much experience with portraits, perhaps those who do will have some great advice for you.. I can give you my personal opinion though for what it is worth... Green is one of my favorite colors, and boy this is a lovely green! I think that the brightness/color, though, takes away much from the subject here...I was wondering what this might look like with the lighting adjusted and perhaps a little bit of desaturation...I am also not well learned in my ps program yet either , sorry my suggestions are lacking in procedural detail.. The background I felt was very nice but very subtle compared with the lighting on the subject..so equalizing these two might be of benefit...Maybe even a touch of soft focus around the subject?...Well those are just my thoughts and my own opinion...lovely colors imo..

| I can't find much to criticize here, it's a pretty good shot. I agree with Tonka about the high level of saturation in the green, and the white part of her dress looks as if it may be blown out. But if your shot was intended to emphasize the dress, perhaps that is the effect you wanted. The girl's face, with a wonderful smile, appears correctly exposed to me.

| I think this is a nice shot. JMO on it I would like to see more of the girls face in the shot, but if you were going for an the focus to be on the dress then it's right on. The dress color might be a tad bit too vibrant, as it seems to distract from the girls face. I'm no expert so you can take it with a grain of salt. Brian

While not the most flattering angle it's a petty good image.
I too would desaturate a bit but throughout the image not just the green. We aren't talking a lot of desaturation just enough to get the lips to a normal shade.
If you were to shoot it again I'd select a lower angle and perhaps a touch wider lens while getting closer to the subject. If there is a way I'd also move the flash off camera to build a touch of depth in the face. One alternative might be to bounce the light off a card or the ceiling.
In editing you could lighten the eyes a bit to bring out the natural color.
Having said all that I rather like the image. She is a very pretty model.
