Eric, if you are allowing google to gather all of our personal info and not getting anything in return from them, I would say thatgoogle is taking advantage of you. That info is valuable.
The data is only valuable if you intend to use it. In my opinion, storing personal data is a liability that I do not wish to take on. Google Checkout is a good service for consumers and merchants. This service allows the consumer to store his or her personal data in a single place and purchase from multiple stores. Imagine if the only company who needed your cc# was your bank and in turn they would take care of paying anyone you wanted.
Nevertheless, I understand if you do not trust the service, it is good feedback for me to see how many users share this view. Anyone who wishes to have the free month and bypass the checkout process can PM your CID to me, as mentioned earlier.

Admin (1/4/2007) The data is only valuable if you intend to use it. ...I expect that Google will use the info. And it is through your website that they are able to collect it. You ought to be getting something in return from them. Just my opinion. It is a good thing that there is finally some competition for PayPal.

| Eric, I tried to PM you to request the extra month be added to my subscription, but got a notice saying "the recipient has already exceeded the quota for private messages."
