Sorry if this has been covered - I did some forum searching and didn't find anything, but you never know.
I am mostly new and decided to finally check out some other features of this website - mainly challenges. I thought I would give voting a go just to see what it was all about ...
1. Obviously when voting in challenges one uses the same criteria as voting in general (good photo, focus/noise, color, exposure, composition, originality, etc etc) ... but how much weight to you give to the photo fitting the challenge topic? For example I was looking at the Calendar challenge which says a photo should fit with a month and gives the examples of jan=snow and oct=halloween. I came across a photo that I really didn't see how it describes any month of the year ... it's a good photo and could possible be in some type of calendar but it doesn't seem to fit this challenge description - so does that mean I should give it a lower score??? And just how much do you "knock off"?
2. In the forums there is talk about voting on ALL the images in a challenge - is there anyway to tell how many photos are entered in a challenge before you begin voting (this would allow me to know about how much time I should have available before I begin voting).
thanks
