Daniel (8/9/2008)
Glynn,

I must say i have never see you act maliciously in your voting.... Your voting pattern has always seemed consistent and fair. this is based on your votes on my images; as well as your votes on the images of others (When the votes at DAwere OPEN and visable to all, and i could view that voting data). For anyone to suggest otherwise i think simple wrong.

I hope you continue to help DA members, as myself, on technical issues and insipre us with you fine work. I know your high standard of photographs prompts me to work harder, and i think my work has improved by the challenge.

Sorry i did not speak up sooner...... but i hjave learned in the past that it is pointless in engaging the disturbed in their incomprehensible rants.

just a thought,

Daniel

Hey Daniel - have you even read any of this?

Who mentioned anything about Glynn's scoring? I didn't!

I could send you a PM that I sent to Glynn when I praised his scoring if you like?

Have you ever been caught out Daniel? Voted a big fat 9+ on a "Glynn Image" that turned out not to be a Glynn Image? Were you a touch regretful? Did you ever tell anyone about your error? Just a thought Daniel - just a thought!

Glynn... Help other DA Members?? I recall one post when there was a very vague description of his process. However, no fine detail and often statements of "not having the confidence" to provide in-depth advice or critiques.

This may well be where his conscience kicked in rather than it being as a result of lack of confidence! He certainly seems confident enough to me!

If you want the rainbow - you gotta put up with the rain.

A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel sooooo good!

I can only say that when i asked Glynn last summer when i started Macro work, that i PMed Glynn and asked for help.  He agreeded.

1.  I sent him some photos.

2.  Glynn returned edited photos with step by step descriptions of what he had done in post processing....

3.  I went back to my original files, followed Glynn's outlined step and 4.  came up with am image very simialr to what Glynn had done with my images.

Glynn has offered in the forums that the capture is critical, and described how he goes about stalking his subjects.  features that are most important to focus on...

After taking 9 months off from photography, i contacted Glynn again via a PM...  He was again gracious and helpful...

I know other DA members that have gotten advise from DA after resquesting help via a PM.

Sandy, I have no idea what your "issue" with Glynn is....  It seem totally ilogical....

This is really starting to go way past ridiculous.

I worked for a boss who constantly threw tantrums and then loudly announced that he is finished with life and that he is going to commit suicide. He'd then get into his car and drive off. Because I've been working for him for such a long time I'd be the one that everyone would turn to, wide-eyed asking what should we do? Every single time I'd go into a frantic stressed search for him, phoning him, driving around - not in a state to work at all, productivity at the company dropping to less than zero. I'd be shaking for days afterwards, even though we found him safe every single time.

Until I had enough one day. Until I applied what I've learned in Pshycology about ATTENTION SEEKERS. It's not hard to understand Sunnyside Sandy, it's simple, the next time my boss said he wanted to commit suicide I simply ignored him, and luckily everyone else followed my example, just doing their jobs as if nothing is happening.

Although I was very afraid that he might actually commit suicide, I stuck it out and you know what? AFTER ABOUT AN HOUR he returned to the office and apologised for the first time ever for what he's being doing to me and the others emotionally, the past years. And that was the last time this happened.

SO THIS IS MY CALL ON ALL OF DA, start ignoring Sunnyside Sandy so that he can stop this utter stupidity. If he won't go and see a therapist out of his own good Will, then we can apply a little pshycology here, free of charge.

And Sunnyside Sandy, this is not a threat, its a promise, if GLYNN leaves this site because of you, I will make it my mission in life to have you banned from this site.

Glynn has never ever been anything but fair and helpful towards me. And I apologise to Glynn, for not speaking up earlier.

Ron, Jacky, Daniel. Thanks for stepping into the labyrinth. Thanks for your support and I'm sorry that you were attacked in return, but at least the way he operates has been revealed for all to see. Its quite understandable why people are reluctant to engage with this lying vicious brute. But it needs to be done.

I missed out on this yesterday and didn't have time to reply yesterday evening as I had to work last night. Just wanted to add my 2cents here.

There are a handful of photographers here who I aspire to be like and who I have sought advice from. All have been very helpful and more than agreeable/courteous. Glenn, you were the first and I appreciate all of your advise and help. I also never tire of seeing your photography - not just the bugs but your dog shots

This place would not be enjoyable to me at all if it weren't for Glenn, Richard, Will King and John Chambers. There are other excellent photographers here as well but these are the 4 who inspire me the most and who have been very kind and helpful with their generous comments and willingness to give advice. It wouldn't be the same place for me without you all.

I don't know if I could remain quiet when attacked in public but I know that my grandmother was right when she told me just to ignore people who were being mean - they are wanting a reaction and if you don't give it to them, it takes all of the fun away for them. Still, I understand how hard it is. This environment is so different from most others in life in that we are all passionate about photography and very emotionally attached to our photographs. Glenn, you were right when you said that your reputation/character is really all that we have - all that really matters. Your's has been above reproach in all of my dealings with you and in what I've seen from you here at DA.

I told myself that I would not get caught up in any drama in the forums. It's been extremely hard for me to bite my tongue. There's been so many times I wanted to just unload but I stuck my guns and stayed quiet.

I'm going to break my silence just to state that I think Jacky has come up with a great idea. Just ignore him.

He brings out the worst in people. He contributes nothing at all to DA except for perhaps $25 annually. I will gladly pay 2 membership fees for his dismissal.

It has to stop. It's not good for the morale of the site to have one extremely rude, disruptive member throwing out insults.

Richard and Glynn are some of the best photographers not only at DA but anywhere and to have some drunken fool constantly berate them is not only annoying but down right disturbing.

So I urge the community to just ignore him. He needs help and until he gets it and stops his ugly ways, we should turn our backs to him.

Sandy

OUT WITH IT !!!!!

If you have something of substance to say then SAY IT. If not shut the f__k up. If you have nothing of substance, then you are a sadist looking to torture someone. If that's it then follow one of the other's advise and get some help for yourself. There is medication that can help this kind of behavior.
