I would never have been able to afford it, Sandy. Our unit is understaffed and they offered $120 bonus per extra shift the last schedule.
I worked an extra 12hr shift a week and actually worked 5 12's one week (2 extra shifts). So, besides the time and 1/2 (and the shift dif because I work midnights shift) and the fact that I signed up for all weekend days (for the extra shifts - and weekend shifts get you a lot more money), I made a nice little chunk of change. It nearly killed me, though. Thinking of the camera was the only thing that got me through it  I usually don't work extra shifts but I couldn't turn down $600 in bonus money since I've been wanting that camera for a very long time now.
