Just a couple of important notes to my peers.
The qualifying raw votes for standard category and sig category awards will remain at 15 votes.
The qualifying raw votes for standard daily and signature daily will soon jump to 25 votes. Qualifying votes for weekly, monthly and annual will remain the same....respectively 30, 60 and 80.
So, my message is.... don't cut yourself short. For your top 10% of your images entered into the contest... (Which should be the top 1% of all the images you capture. 10% of 1% equals your top 0.1%!!!! 1 out of 1000 image captures. If you capture 10,000 images, then we're talking about your top 10.)..... keep 'em in the contest all the way to 80 raw signature votes.
Why am I saying this? The current voting environment on the first 15 votes for your image is not necessarily representative of the entire membership's view of your image. On your most favorite images.... the ones you love the most... the ones which represent your artistic and technical excellence.... don't be discouraged by early votes. Do not archive too early. Keep 'em in the contest. Sometimes it takes a broader membership vote to elevate an image to its true status.
Compete! Hang in there! Don't archive your top 10% too early! While you're waiting for your images to attract a stable score, continue to photograph the genre you love. Good things happen to good people. This will all work out well. After all, it's growth in skill and achievement, as verified by peer recognition, which we seek. Keep on clicking!

| I try to never archive early..More or less let them run their course. Now deleting after a few first 'lower' scores, knowing the image is pretty much not happening, is a totally different subject! Good reminder you posted to think about if you are hoping to gain more awards down the road!
