Today, a situation was brought to my attention of alleged collusion. I investigated the situation and subsequently removed an account from the system.
This message is posted in an effort to further demonstrate the zero tolerance policy for members who collude to raise or lower image scores.
This particular case flew under the radar of the systems in place to check for this sort of thing, but upon inevitable discovery, swift action was taken.
I want to make it clear that while the site administration strives to be fair and data driven, when a situation arises that appears to significantly tarnish the reputation of the site or the integrity of image scores, action is taken immediately.
This message is intended to instill confidence, not fear among those who read it. With all of the automated systems in place along with vigilant site administration behind the scenes, you can be sure the ratings at DA are of the highest quality you will find online.

Eric,
I am sure many members will feel more confident now, knowing that real action will be taken when it is proven that there has been collusive or subversive votes being cast. Bravo for you for taking action to help keep the integrity of this site and its best images intact.

| Well done Eric. No one with a clear conscience would reach the concusion that you were ever attempting to instil fear. Your robust and welcome protection of the integrity of the competition is just another example of why this is the fairest and best site of its kind anywhere. Keep up the good work. . . I am confused by this. Does 'collusion' not require more than one individual? Can you explain to me why only one account has been removed?

There were (at least) two accounts involved and I can assure you that strong and fair action has been taken on both. Based on the facts, only one required removal however.
Out of respect, I would appreciate people not trying to figure out precisely what happened and who was involved. I can see that many people have figured out the account that was removed - so let us leave it at that and move forward.
