Could someone explain what vote ratio means to me please? I'm a newbee so sorry if your annoyed. Oh and another thing, why do some pics say it has been veiled lets say 10 times but has 20 votes...how is that possible? And I lied, I've got another question..is there a way to view pics and not vote on them? I guess I'm just trying to figure it all out so if someone wouldn't mind answering my post I would be grateful!! Thankyou and have a wonderful day.

3.5000:1 means, as an example, there have been 7,000 votes over the past 24 hours and there are 2,000 images in the system (these are fake numbers for an example). In general, with a site wide average like this, one would expect to receive an average of 3.5 votes per active image during a 24 hour period.

Images do not record a "view" count when in the voting window or when viewed by the owner. Only views by others, when the image has won an award or is brought up in the search function and viewed count towards "views".

Not sure on your third question, for sure. I don't think images can be viewed in a member's profile page until it has been archived. One might be able to search for an active image if you know the title, or if it happens to be a top 250 rated image in a category. Maybe others can clarify this last answer for Snapni
t.

.

The site offers a search feature (menu:  COMMUNITY -> SEARCH -> PHOTOS).  This allows you to view images outside the voting function. There you can view most any image using the search parameters.

.

If you would like to see FLOWERS you can search the flower category.  If you would like to see FLOWERS rated >7 you can search based on that too.  Sort the list in ascending order and you will get the lower rated flowers >7.  Sort the search in descending order and a new group will be revealed. The search will allow a display of up to 250 image thumbnails at one time.  The search will display both active and archived images.

.

You can also search by Photographer.  Photographer specific searches will only reveal archived images.  Still, you can get pretty good detail derived from these searches too.

Wright is very astute and knowledgeable about how the website functions. He is also a wizard in statistical analysis. Please keep revelation of the search function secret, as it is extremely useful. We do not want the riff raff to discover what we know.
