I don't think this should happen.... the "top voter" at the moment with over 1000 votes in the last 24 hours has NO images (there are no "votes received) Here is the profile....

| I completely agree. These accounts are probably bot accounts. This is precisely the reason why I think only paying members should have the ability to vote. It keeps the rift raft out.

Sooner or later, we will need a CAPTCHA system. I'm not looking forward to passing a "human" test each time I log into a voting session. It depends on the growth of this perceived problem. I'm actually hoping a dedicated, if somewhat obsessive, human completed the massive votes in 24 hours (about 1 per minute on average, if you assume about 16 hours of voting.)
Human votes are okay, although it would be much better if there was a genuine balance in voting, comments and image participation.
Automated "bot" votes are another thing.... a very nefarious activity.

My personal view is that there are plenty of checks in place to compensate for this.
1) Weighted voting
2) Collusion detection
3) Report of voters who have voted the same number
