Please could someone tell me what you have to do to become a signature member? Does it happen automatically at some point? I have looked through the rules/abolut/faq etc. but can't seem to see anything about it. Thanks in advance

Hi Sarah

Yes, you have to win at least three Pulitzer Awards, take part in at least 6 coverages of war/news items and be recognized by at least 12 countries as a world class photographer.

That the short version - the true version :

As you win awards, you gain weight, I'm not sure what the weight is, I think the top 7,5% of the site is the signature members. I'm sure someone will correct me here very soon....

Jacky is absolutely correct, Sarah.

A person who loses god loses everything, and a person who gets god gets everything.

The weight which determines whether a vote is from a signature member or a regular member can be determined by looking at your image statistics. If the vote is capped at "14" for example, then that voter was a signature voter at the moment of voting. An uncapped vote indicates the vote was cast by a regular member. From that info, you can infer your own signature/regular status.

The number of total members ebbs and flows. The 7.5% is not set in stone. It has been higher at points in the past. There are times when inactive accounts are purged. The line moves fairly often. A signature member today may fall back to regular member tomorrow. So, it's a bit mysterious, by design

I have had a close look at all my votes received and they are either "No" or between 13 and 16. Is there no 1 - 12?

Just in case you're wondering - signature AWARDS can be won by anyone - you do not have to be a signature member to win awards in that category.

Certainly the column showing the voter's weight should vary between 1 and 660+.

The column showing the capped weight, which is about 13 today and could vary a few points either way, tells you the number of weight points applied from that voter's score for purpose of standard awards.

Everyone's votes count toward standard awards, but weights are capped.

Only signature votes count towards signature awards. No cap
