Sometimes I just get stuck on how to crop and image and this is one of those times. Some of the feedback I've been getting leads me to think that I crop too tight. The red is where I would normally crop but to tell the truth it leaves a lot of blank area on the left. A bit of help would be appreciated.

I guess you will also have a hard time cropping it if I don't put the link in.

Thanks

I would drop it down but to the right, with a slightly bigger crop,, I dont know what that would do as I cant see it without doing it but that was my first impression.. jmt.

My take on this is ...

I feel that you are cropping slightly too tightly at the bottom, give the ducks foot a bit more room. Normally I'd crop in similar fashion that you have at the top - here though, I find the light area of water to be distracting so I would crop off at the top just to reduce the impact of this. I think you have got it perfect on the left, I definitely think that you should not crop tighter here. The "conventional wisdom" is to let creatures have room to move into - your crop serves this well.

At the end of the day, above all, create the image to please yourself

Thanks guys... You are right, I should please myself but this time pleased kept illuding me... I couldn't put my finger on it though. I do think it's the bright water at the top that is fooling me. I appreciate the input.

Are you trying to keep your crop a certain size?   (8x10)(5x7) and so on... or is that an issue for you?

It's not a huge issue but I've been told here that deviation from one of the "more pleasing" ratios get a point taken off. This crop is just for this site.

I hope you don't mind.  I copied your image and put what I thought might be a possible crop on it... I am trying to figure out how to put it back on here! LOL

But, if you would rather me not and would be offended by me 'messing' with your shot.  Just say so, I would totally understand.
