Could someone explain to me please?
I have an image in the "Unexpected" category which has 13 raw votes and 9 signature. It also has 6 "views". I thought that before an image has won an award it was not visable for viewing? Am I wrong?
I have a couple of other images with views as well.
Thanks in advance

| These images are viewable via the TOP 100 images by category list. They would also be viewable through an Image Search if criteria that included the image was used in the search pattern. Also, after 15 raw votes an active image may be viewed in the TOP 360 listing if it is rated high enough. . Though they may be viewed, active images do not identify the submitting photographer. The image is only identified with the photographer after it has earned an award or it has been archived. WE

sarah (12/3/2007) Thanks WE..... can you tell me where to find the "Top 100 photos by category" list? I can only seem to find the Top Photos - Standard or Signature"
SarahSarah, Under Contest, click Winners. Then it gives you the choice of Signature Category winners or Category winners. Click on either one and it brings you to that day's winners and under each image is a link to the Top 100 photos for that category. Once you get there you also have the option of clicking a link to show you the top 100 without awards for that category.

wemor (12/3/2007) They would also be viewable through an Image Search if criteria that included the image was used in the search pattern. I don't think this is true for active images that haven't won an award yet, WE. I just tested 2 new images of mine and they don't show up through the Search feature. I also tried one of today's category winners that I just voted on last night (so I figure it's still active ) and that did come up. So it seems active images will only be viewable through Search if it's won an award already.

Just tried the same test - You are RIGHT! Only the Active Images that have won awards come up in the Photo Search Feature. To me this is the better solution. Thanks for the correction. WE

| If I am following this correctly, active images without an award don't show up on this list, so how do people view my images?

| Sorry, I'm not following correctly! I can see now! Yes, I can see my Unexpected entry without an award in this list. Isn't this a bit of a loophole in the system?

| I think so. Personally, I feel that ALL active (voting) images should be blocked from public view until they are archived. Even those that earn awards should only be viewable for the duration of the award. This would be the best solution to maintain the strictest integrity throughout the voting cycle for an image. . We have closed the gap on potential Target Voting against individuals, but anyone can still scan the TOP CATEGORY list to view the highest ranking images prior to casting their vote. They want know who the photographer is but they can still preview the image before it it presented to them for voting. WE
