Hey,,no I wont quit crying and you cant make me ;)..

Yes it was outside, it is a phlox of some sort, short kind.. I took so many of these but this one was in the morning and I can't remember if I sat in front of it or let the sun shine directly on it hmm,,maybe I will post the camera info if I find time to pull it off of the disc...and these are pretty small,,about a 1/4in wide and 1/2 long..many tries but I had to get one as these are just so beautiful..something you would not see standing up lookin at them or walking by ...which of course is always my point!! :D...

And the decision to leave those types of buds or take them off always seems to kill me...I am right on the line always...I like the natural surroundings look but then I know I will always get marked a "distraction" and then when I take it off well,,I never like it as much..go figure :D..

Okay,,now I am gonna cry..:crying: but a happy cry..:)

I hope to bring you many more lol...even if takes me ten thousand more than the thousands I have already posted since August,,,note:..I have taken about 50000 photos so far :D...well don't know the numbers but they are high..

Congrats on your win! I am new here on DA and haven't seen many photos yet but this has to be one of the best flower photos that I've ever seen. It's absolutely awesome.

I like to collect items from towns I pass through, shot glasses, coffee mugs, postcards. So when people ask, I tell them, "Oh yea, I've been there." But I was just passin through...shhh...

If you ever make it to NM, there is a town called Truth Or Consequences...strange, yes...:w00t:

I always used to want to travel..ahh well,,Perhaps it will be in the cards someday..definately want to get up there to them Mountains in the NW..

I foresee a lucrative photography career in my future..

Yes I do like it. You've got good lighting that hasn't produced any hot spots and there is plenty of detail in the shadows. Focus looks good, except for the kitty who is obviously moving fast with his cat-like reflexes to do as much damage as possible to your brown suede boots. So it portrays motion and not lack of focus.:)

Kitties can be naughty. We had one that would hang on the screen of the front door when he wanted in, no noise, just hang there, starring.

Az is ok so far. We haven't done much traveling yet. Visited a state park just north of here that had a humming bird garden, but most of the trees didn't have buds, so there were no birds. Although the other day there was a pair of twiterpated humming birds chasing around my yard. The heat hasn't gotten unbearable yet, it's at a steady 90 now. Scenery is great! There is a mountain range about a mile away from the house that is west and south, then east across the 25 mile valley that drops about 600 ft is another mountain range. Directly south of that is a mountain peek that is Mexico.

I'm originally from southern Wisconsin. Joined the Army after high school and was stationed in central Texas. Lived there for about 4-5 years, and moved back to Wisconsin when my hubby deployed Dec 05. He came back, we moved to Tx for 2 months, and now we are here for atleast a year. Have no idea where we are going next, should know in about 6 months. I'm hoping for Ft. Carson, Co or Ft. Lewis, Wa, but it could be anywhere! :w00t:

I lived in phoenix for a year..nice scenery...couldnt stand the heat so I got outta the kitchen ...

AHH! That is tooo funny! I'm gunna be laughing about that all day now.

Yup, I'm in Az. Ft. Huachuca to be exact. (Hubby is in the Army). We are about 10 miles from the border of Mexico. It is soo different here, been here for about a month and I'm still trying to get used to it. There are wildflowers in full bloom, and the trees are fragrant, yet have no flowers on them. Weird. :w00t:

LOL..yeah ...kids!! Well I could do still but I have the lighting (in your opinion ;) ) down but only outdoors lol..

I really get very sad shootin in the house :(...lol..call me weird but I have to be outside , I feel claustrophobic inside plus ..bless my little one (toddler) he likes to help so much it hurts heh heh..

I tried this past winter but if it wasnt the toddler it was the kitten "playing" with my bkrnds ..or subjects...take this for example...for a challenge...

So a number of obstacles here LOL...I was just sitting there tryin to shoot my boots and without warning POUNCE ..geez louize lol,,,do you think she ever played with them before this shot??? BIG NO!! and not since either...oye.

Maybe once I can settle down though, as I am still quite hyper in the newness of this all :D...( I am a spaz) :D...Are you in AZ JD?...

Yea I know what you mean! Living here in the southwest, everything is more expensive, not just the gas! Of course you could always do still life, you've got the lighting down, just a suggestion. ;) I did at one point think, hey, you would probably do some good portrait shots with your kids. But who was I trying to fool. Kids don't sit still!! My kids climb all over me every chance they get, but as soon as that camera comes out, they won't even look at me! :w00t: I don't know how many pics I have of my daughter facing me but her eyes are to the side.:P

Actually, I would love to take different category shots but I am sort of stuck in my yard..that is what ya get with no budget and 3 bucks a gallon for gas :(..

All of the flowers are from my gardens...:D...I started planting when we moved in 7 years ago...Can you tell what my number one passion/hobby is?? lol...I love my plants and I am so blessed to finally be able to take pics that show off their beauty and little details and that other's appreciate them!!

That is how my serious snappin got started...

For the love of a flower or twenty!! :D.. and it is really great cause I love "plant swapping",, find a few friends/family and trade seedling/bulblings when ya need to thin out!!

So there you have it...:D

Everyone has just got me in tears today!! I cannot believe the support and congrats from everyone!

You know, I would know nothing if it werent for so many people here..You all have helped me in many areas right down to the congratulatory messages which boost my confidence and drive!!

This one did not start out this well, and so I have said, I am letting my pics run awhile before removing or archiving..I honestly never thought this one was going to get this award ..and so very thankful and happy it did...
