Well that's me off to Liverpool for the Grand National - be back on Sunday night. If I get internet access I'll share my selections tomorrow.;)

Hey Glynn, I'll be staying just across the water from you - maybe we should meet up on the Sunday morning and you can show me some of the local sites?

Faisal, thanks for clearing up, yes I was under the impression that saudi is a part of UAE, and I had forgotten the names of ajman and Umm Al quwain.:P

Hi Bhas. I think you're confused here.

2 different things.

Saudi Arabia is NOT a part of the UAE. Saudi Arabia is a country and UAE (United Arab Emirates) is another different country.

The GCC is a group of countries that are on the Arabian Gulf (aka: Persian Gulf). These countries are: Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman.

UAE (which is a country) consists of 7 main states (aka: cities) which include: Dubai (the most famous city), Abu Dhabi (the capital of UAE), Fujira, Ras Al Khaima, Sharjah, Umm Al Quwain and Ajman

Wow, thats fantastic sandy, I don't think it was a fluke.... there must have been some divine intervention in that. May you do it this year as well.... But hey don't forget my treat after that.....:P

And Faisal, I totally agree to what Sandy has said here about you. Keep up the good work buddy. And yes one more thing that I wanted to ask you is,, that UAE consists of 7 countries. Dubai. Sharjah, Saudi Arabia, Ras Al Khamiah, Al fujirah, and what are the other two countries. I forgot and recently my son asked me, so I thought I should ask you.

Our Faisal is a fantastic photographer - always a very unique perspective and something we can all look forward to and aim to replicate! Huge big bow to you Faisal - doing both yourself and DA very, very proud!!

I guess..... an ultimate compliment would be to confirm that "I'd"[b] buy[/b] a lot of your work - a great deal of your abstract shots are outstanding and very much provides a benchmark for us to follow.

In saying that - your "Quality" is very much apparent in most other categories too!

You're very much valued and I reckon most of the membership look forward to voting/seeing your photos!

Go get your shots into offices Faisal!!! "Most" decision makers will jump at it - I reckon.

As Bhas was on a horse racing slant.....................next Saturday is "the" Grand National.

Last year - I bet both the 1st and the 2nd......and for them to finish ..... in that order - bit of a fluke...maybe!? I also bet the forecast! :-) I was super rich for a while. LOL Lived like a Lord!! :hehe:

Oh my God......... We have missed so many photographs with you missing all these wonderful events... LOL. I have been to Dubai once, may be next year I will be there to see this event with my son, who is just crazy about horses.... And horse beauty contest???!!! Wow that is something interesting as well.....;)

Dubai is 50 minutes by plane, but I totally missed it. Just like I missed all shows and events there in the last few years.

Here in Riyadh, we actually had the big annual camel race. Missed it. We have the first annual Horse beauty contest. Missed it. We had the 26th annual festival of culture and traditions (which goes on for 2 weeks) and I made it in the last hour of the last day! LOOOL

Too much work. But I'll always try to catch new things. Soon I hope

Dubai World Cup

Dubai hosted "Dubai World Cup" for horse racing this evening, it was a spectacular show, started with the police band in the opening ceremony, followed by music from venessa may, and some splendid display of fire works later on before the main event. I watched almost the entire show, and kept asking myself, "where is faisal almalki"? I wish faisal was there, and if he was I can assure you we will be able to see some great snaps of this wonderful event......:) What say Faisal???? I watched it on television.....
