On each complaint, I do my best to investigate the situation to obtain solid data in order to draw a reasonable conclusion. This is a communication I recently sent to a user regarding such a complaint to illustrate that I do take these things seriously, but also to confirm that I believe the very great majority of votes cast here are in good faith.

Names and numbers have been changed to protect the innocent.

---

Site Member,

I do take all allegations of cheating very seriously. It is possible for me to look for voting patterns by knowing information like what you have sent here. For example, I did a search for all votes cast by this user on the owner of this image and got the following results for the score of each vote:

ImageID Rating
12345 10
12346 8
12347 6
12348 6
12349 6

With this information, it is not possible to take any action as there does not seem to be a pattern to indicate cheating between these members.

I do receive many complaints like what you have sent and I investigate all of them. Only once have I observed a pattern that was actionable. On those accounts, I implemented a block to prevent voting between them. I feel strongly that the community here is, by a great degree, fair and honest.

If you have any further concerns, by all means contact me and I can pull up the data needed to draw an objective conclusion.

Sincerely,

Eric Elsten
DailyAwards.com
