Wow! Just logged on and saw that I had won the first challenge. Thanks all for the comments. This was a recent photo taken while on Holiday in Spain. I will now look forward to the next challenge (Night). Gives me another goal to aim for.

Thanks ZoosieQ LOL...his smile cracks me up..He had such great fun and those wheelbarrows really do work well in the wRight conditions...;)..

I hope the other challenges open soon..

Eric......Perhaps you could post the challenge winners on the home page so that members might be interested to go check the challenge area out???? I still think it is somewhat hidden and not second nature to go and visit so pointing them out might be a necessity????

But just my thinkin on it...:)

Congrats Rocket on an amazing photo!!!! The medalists definitely deserved their medals!!!!!!

By the way, Zzzzonka! The picture of your son in the wheelbarrow totally reminded me of a Calvin and Hobbes cartoon! Super cute!!!!!!

There was a bug that was immediately returning the challenge to voting after it ended, it's fixed now, you can see the results under the results section on the challenges home page.

Unless I'm overlooking something.

I thought you weren't supposed to be able to see your image rating? I saw mine when I clicked on my entry title, came up at the top...? Or did you just mean image rating in comparison to the others?

When you click, it will now show the proper rating.

Eventually, clicking will take you to an edit page, much like what exists for images in the regular contest.

A quick "Heads-Up". You can check on the voting progress of any open challenges where you have entries by following the "My Entries" link. There it will show you your image's accumulated vote totals. It does not show the image rating. WE

Documentation for the whole site is on my list of to-dos, it just happens to take a lot of time so it is not done yet.

Challenges require:

- 20 entries to go live
- Minimum of 7 days to allow for entries
- Exactly 20 votes will be recorded for each image when voting (if the image already has 20 votes, it will not be displayed)
- After all images in that challenge have collected 20 votes, the voting will end and the results will be displayed.

I have also just voted on the Motion challenge images. Another question... is there a time limit for the voting period? Does there have to be a minimum number of votes? etc. etc. Sorry to keep asking questions but still can't seem to find where the rules are for these contests?

I think Eric already was saying that it is ok to have the same photo in Challenge and DA-Contest. But I think it is probably the most fun if you go out and shoot a new photo for a challenge.

Well, I dont think there is a thing wrong with older photos unless the challenge is a specific one asking for images to be shot within a time frame..BUT....

I don't know about putting images in that are currently active in the regular voting pool..I am not in favor of that...but I wouldn't necessarily raise a hissy either...

I just think it is most appropriate to enter an original or perhaps an archived image but not an active one..

Only my opinion on the matter...:)

That is how I understand it too. The photo has to fit the description but has no time frame. So you can if you want use older photos.

I thought that there wouldn't be a problem submitting something you might already have in your account if it fits the challenge criteria unless in the rules for that specific challenge it specified a specific time-frame. In my mind, it's like someone announces a competition for national park landscapes and you have something that you entered in a beautiful vistas that also will work. It's not DPChallenge where the requirements are that it be taken after the challenge is announced. But maybe that's just my interpretation.

Zeke, I think the idea was for new images in Challenges not ones allready in the voting pool.

Hey Eric, how about making a link in the challenge submission for an image already in your portfolio. Would help prevent having to download and upload again if you've got one that fits the description already.

I'd love to get involved.. but *sigh* just dont have the material for those particular themes. Thats my challenge at the moment! But, I'm working on it ... time is an issue at the moment. Especially for an evening shot.

To be sure, a few more could add some entries to the new challenge feature. I would like to see how it is going to work. Motion needs at least 6 more entries and Night needs 10 to activate voting. Anyone with these or other entries add them to the contest so we can at least see how the next steps fall into place. WE:cool:

There are no site rules on the challenges (above those that apply in general, like no nudity, etc). But, if a challenge has rules in the description, they should be followed.

The "night" and "my town" challenges have opened in addition to the two that were open already. The challenge system now allows 4 open challenges at a time.

After 20 entries (and a minimum of 7 days) a challenge can go live for voting.
