I am trying to keep my panoramic within

hight <= 720px

width <= 1500px

[color="navy"]Glad you're trying panorama images. I enjoy viewing them. I don't have all the answers... and my panos have not faired well with voters. But, here are some observations:

1. I prefer to see images at a proportion of 2.5:1 or greater. If the proportions are less than this, the images usually don't "look" panoramic. Although, there are no hard and fast rules on proportions.

2. With panoramic images, the challenge is the display in the voter window. Your beautiful pano will be sized down to 640 pixels on the longest dimension. That means you are dependent on the voter clicking on the full size view to see the detail and perspective of the big image. Lots of (most) voters will not choose to view the full size. It's a fact of life.

3. Subscribing members can size up to 2000 pixels on the longest dimension. My observation is that images with vertical dimension of greater than 720 pixels will be penalized by voters.... because they must scroll around too much.

4. File size can be as much as 2 MB. More people than I realized are on relatively slow Internet connections. It's unrealistic to expect most voters to wait for a giant image to draw in. That's the other reason to be conservative in image size.

5. It might be wise to constrain the vertical dimension to 400 pixels. Then, with a 2.5:1 proportion, the horizontal dimension will be about 1000 pixels. That will fit on the majority of voters' windows without requiring scrolling and will draw in fairly quickly. Also, you can keep the JPG quality near 100%[/color].

Height 750 is a good size, Bhas. It fits on many computer screens without vertical scrolling. Just need to scroll horizontally which I would expect in a panorama image.
