Well worth the money. I have found it to be a huge help in the past. Glen Johnson is very talented. A few bits of advice if you are interested would be: Have a back-up of everything. You don't want to only have one camera and then it breaks. Use a flash gun for more power and a bracket with pocket bouncer/ lightsphere to avoid ugly shadows. Another option is to not shoot subjects that are close to a wall where shadows can occur. Take loads of memory. I shoot RAW so that I can adjust the WB later but that takes up space. On average I go through about 10- 12 gb of memory. If you have a backup camera..... keep it with you at all times with a longer lens on it. This will save you needing to change lenses and missing any precious moments.

Shoot some "mock ups". The last wedding I shot at I had to take pitures of the bride leaving for the church and at the same time take pictures of the groom waiting!... impossible unless you shoot her leaving the church as a mock up and then she doesn't actually leave untill a bit later. That or ask another person at the wedding to take photographs of one of these moments. Take energy drinks. At the last one I was shooting for 15 hours and my only brake was when driving from location to location!

Most importantly, don't listen to anyone who says "don't do it!". If you think you can do it..... do it! And act confident (even if you aren't), it puts the bride and groom at ease.

My weddings are in June and August - not to be missed.

Oh for the life of a bigamist

The weddings involve my nephew and the son of a dear friend. Its just a bit worrying. Now if it were the nuptials of a Fly & Beetle!!

Its even harder to price these things when people are so close. I've already agreed to do the nephews as a wedding present - the friends son - have'nt a clue? I'd prefer to do it gratis rather than risk our friendship over money issues. It'll be a challenge for sure. I'm quite fortunate that in one case the bride is a stunner - which helps.

I'll muddle through.

So glad you asked that Glynn. I didn't know you could get the top 100 for specific categories. I too went looking for wedding photos and only saw the top 100 wedding photographers which wasn't very helpful since the photographers images are listed by title not category, unless I'm not seeing that either.

Thanks Robert for posting the links and Faisal for the link. I too have been booked for my first wedding. When are your 2 weddings Glynn? Mine is this coming August and it is going to be an outdoor ceremony.

Why thank you, Richard! At home, I'm usually wrong so it's nice to be correct once in a while :P;) LOL

I'm glad you mentioned the search function also ... sometimes I forget about the filtering capabilities it has and most times I forget to click on thumbnails. It's hell to suffer from CRS! :w00t:;)

You can still see Top 100 for each category :) Under Contest, go into Winners, then either Signature Category or Category and when that page comes up with all the winners, there's a link under each one for the "Top 100"

Excuse my ignorance, but where can we view the Top 100 in each category? I have my first two weddings this year and wanted to look at a selection of the best wedding photos. Has the facility been withdrawn?
