An image score can bounce around quite a bit when it is new, but should stabilize as it collects more votes. This is why at least 15 votes are required to begin winning awards.

RE: Got killed

I look forward to the signature voters, voting on my images. :D

They are less biased by their opinions of the subject manner and more willing to vote for the technical aspects of the photograph. By listening and applying their advice, my ratings have improved in both categories.

Just have to say that high weight or not, even an image that has three votes on it, is going to have the rating change by the time it has twenty. The great thing about having several people vote is that their opinions are all different and at the end of the day it balances itself out, if it is a worthy photograph. :hehe:

RE: Got killed
ScottyZoozie (6/29/2008)
Maybe you should get a wee subscription and try it out and see how you like it. :D That way you can see what is going on with your images.
Like I said in another thread - I want to but my financial consultant (wife) hasn't cleared it yet.

I'll wait and see what happens with these votes. That just seemed to be a heck of a drop in one vote. Thanks for reading this anyway.

RE: Got killed

Maybe you should get a wee subscription and try it out and see how you like it. :D That way you can see what is going on with your images.

RE: Got killed

Wait until you get more votes, like 30 or more, the image stats seem to level out above that and you wont get a true estimate of what the image is really worth until several voters have seen the photo.

Sometimes my first three votes can average out around 6 then at 20 votes it can be as high as 8. Night time and weekend votes are lower than mid-week votes.

Depends on category as well, some categories do not get high votes like the flowers and wildlife category does. If the voter feels it is in the wrong category it could also influence their vote.

Three votes are too soon to tell a photographs real value. Hang in there for awhile and good luck.

Got killed

I was reading some of these threads yesterday and found them interesting though old. This morning I personal experienced an issue discussed.

My latest post in the gallery yesterday had only 2 signature votes and an average 7.000. This morning I have 3 signature votes and an average 6.222. Someone in your signature group is trying to really hurt the voting standards. I am not a subscribed member so I don't have all the info, but as near as I can figure, I had two 7 votes and one around 2 or 3.
