Okay, I am totally bummed cuz my friends and family saw a contest listed in the newspaper and I got two clippings :D...they love me....anyway..

Turns out you must be a student enrolled in either a photography or a design course..

I, unfortunately because I transferred a bunch of credits and am not going to the main campus, did not get to enroll in either of these types of courses so I am not eligible to enter :(..

So for any of you who are...here is the contest launched by Xerox.

Some of you are probably already know PhotoShelter.com, a normal stock photography website. They starting a new microstock sites with the name PhotoShelter Collection ( http://mp.photoshelter.com/ ). They trying a new approach to attract commercial buyers, but keeping the prices up. There is a minimum price of 50$ per photo. The account is free, but you have to apply for approval with 3 to 10 photos. If it does not work out with the first try you can apply again. Each photo that you upload has to be first approved from there editors. If it does not fit there theme and quality check it will be rejected. It looks like that the quality of photos there are very high.

Check it out! You may make some bucks.

Who has the scoop on this wonderful event which is supposed to be happening around the 27th of Aug.?(Mars being close to Earth)

Will this be something that anyone can capture?...and Who will be trying to photograph this?..

If you like to sell your photos in Germany than you can build an online gallery at mygall. You do not have to live in Germany to do so. But you will need a PayPal account if you do not have a German checking account. Well, there is on handicap. It would be helpful if you can read and write German.

Model Release For Foreign Subjects

I've sold a few photos on Fotolia, but have avoided the need for a model release by taking shots of people who had their face turned away. I have wondered, though, if photographers traveling in foreign lands have gotten model releases for all of their subjects???

Smallest Studio Size

For those of you that know about these things, what is the smallest practical studio size for the following types of shots. Couple Head and Shoulder's, Couple Standing, 5 People Standing. The following assumptions can be made:

You may select any studio lights with any light modifiers , Types of shots would be fairly basic types of shots like strong light from one side and traditional well lit images.

Suggestions on lighting would be appreciated, I'm thinking about a 4 light Speedotron Brown Line system with a 1604b power pack.

I'd like to stress that what I am primarily looking for is the [u]minimal[/u] amount of space possible to achieve the shots, not the comfortable space required. If I was going to someones house to shoot a portrait how much space would be required below which I'd have to say no?

Okay I was wondering if you all could help me with gathering information..

Suppose my photos were good enough to try and sell..:D

How do I prepare to do that?, I mean what are the technical issues that I must be aware of?, I know that noise is an issue but is there a general rule of how big the photo must be upon upload/download?

Also does ps have a noise tool?

Is the process complicated? There is a storefront here as well right? and if so how well has it worked for any who have used it...

I would like to try this in the future and am just trying to gather information and maybe prepare for this possibility... Of course any and all input on whether or not my photos have a chance or what I could do to improve them for sale would be welcome and appreciated,,,your honest feedback is always valued! Thanks for your help in advance:)
