Oh, I got it. We should standardize it...EVERYONE should have a LG Flatron L1932TQ 19" with 1400:1 contrast ratio and a Sony Vaio Desktop. 'Nuf said.

I was referring to the white area of sky where the dog's left ear (not the ear on the left of the picture) meets the top of his forehead. I think the image would be improved if you cloned in some blue sky there.

Second version looks best to me. I'd tone down that hot spot by the dog's left ear.

LOL..I am sorry , I just gotta laugh at that face...lol...

I like that much better NIki, but that is just my opinion on it!!

En I think you could quite successfully blend those fingers in , especially if you are much better in ps than ...ohhhh let's sayyyyyy

I don't have a hyper dog but I cant even get him to look at me when I have the camera so all you can do is the best you can do...I have to have a steak in my hand but then he usually just knocks me down lol..not really but he wouldnt be a centimeter away from me!!

Here's a version where I did nothing but select the dog and raise the curves on it. Then I inverted the selection to select the rest of the picture and
reduced the blue and cyan saturation in the sky a bit.

Nothing else was done to the background other than reduction of blue/cyan saturation.

Nothing else done to the foreground other than curve increasing.

Guess I said the same things twice :cool:

well i dont know the actual color of your dog...lol...

i guess my point on your photo, is its too dark, especially the face and eyes, and that curves can be used to brighten up the darker areas, without blowing-out the whites... and that local editing of eyes on animal shots sometimes can help, as i think the eyes are a focal point for many viewers.... jmo....

Well, the background was brighter than the foreground subject to begin with, which was
problematic. If I took more time I could fix that too. Maybe I will...

Way dark on my screen.
Sky over-saturated.
Dog has slight halo effect around edges.

I used Katrin Eissann's Fill Flash PS action
on this at almost 100% opacity, which is very
unusual to be required, and then some curve and saturation adjustments.

Not totally pleased with the result but its definitely
better than it was, in my view anyway.

i love the composition... nice diagonal line created bi the dog...

i thought the dog a tad dark... especially the eyes... and a warmer light can help with this... i took the liberty of doing a bit of editing.... levels, greens and reds brightened... and local brightening of the eyes....

En, I think this is a very neat pic!! I absolutely love the pose/expression of the dog :D,,

What I think is this..it seems as though the dog has the same ummm, sorry sometimes I struggle with the tech. terms...so how do I say this.?? hmmm...lighting is very even throughout the whole pic,,so it is hard to distinguish any depth here. I felt bkrnd should be a little darker to highlight the subject,,or of course more/brighter light on the subject...However , the fingers....lol I have to say they are camoflaged extremely well!! They look like the natural curve/contour of this area which is usually there!! Brightening the subject would of course probably bring these more to light so to speak!!

Perhaps you could put a bit a brighter "warmth" on the subject? as the bkrnd is very blue (beautiful tone btw)...Something which make the white "pop"...?..as I think the cool color of the bkrnd gets carried throughout the subject...but that is my humble/not so experienced in editing opinion :).!

Hey 2K, that looks like a dog with attitude! IMHO this pic looks very sharp. Didn't notice the two fingers on dogs chest until i scrutinized the pic closer. My attention went straight to the dogs' face. Well done.
