As far as the lighting goes, it looks like you used natural light.
It would present better light patterns and smoother shadows, with his face angled more towards the light, and slightly up to prevent the deep shadows cast from his eyebrows. You could have also moved his face away from the light toward his left, to give you a split light pattern which is also masculine. A silver reflector under his chin or on his lap, would have brought out more information in his eyes.
Hopefully this will help some.

HERNAN

RE: negative comments please :D

I actually think it could be sharper, a little bit of a glow would be nice for lighting and it might even benefit from a crop on the top...It is a pleasant comp. and a different angle which makes it nice..:)..

Those are just my thoughts but, portraits are not my forte...what say you Mrs. Stapp? :D..

negative comments please :D

this picture took over 50 vote 7
in my opinion i think it worth 7 :)
but is there anything i can do to make it worth 8 :D
all the comments and feedback on this photo was positive ones :)
i'll appreciate any critique or tip i can use so my next portrait photo be better ;)
thanks
