Those votes are fully unrestricted and all of the weight of the voter is used in computing the image score. It once was the case that standard votes operated in the same way (but included all voters, not just signature level). As it turned out, the winners for each class were often the same as the image scores were nearly identical between standard and signature score.

To summarize.
Signature Score is computed with:
Signature votes, unrestricted weight

Standard Score is computed with:
Standard votes, unrestricted weight
Signature Votes, restricted weight

RE: Please un-confuse me LOL

Thanks for your reply...

....so it is my understanding that for the Sig votes, the total of the user casting the vote is not capped..so all of their "weight" is counted..even if it is say... 212?

On that note, the same voter is capped at about 30 in the standard category?

...I'm just trying to get a hand on how the site works.

Thanks.

RE: Please un-confuse me LOL

This is direct from the About page
The accumulation of points represents a weight assigned to you for each vote you cast. For example, if you have reached level 2 status (account weight = 2) your vote will have double the power of a level one user. Thus, should you cast a vote of 8 for an image, it will be the equivalent of two level 1 users. See the formula below for a precise understanding of how your vote affects an image score:

[(sum of votes) + (current vote * current weight)] / (total weights so far + current weight)
So, in basic terms, your vote weight value equates to casting that amount of votes all at once.

Edited to add: Of course, as discussed, this does not apply for standard votes as they are capped at the breakpoint weight between standard and signature. See the Site Overview for details on that.

RE: Please un-confuse me LOL

Are you telling me that when a member with a rating of say...243 votes on an image, that vote will raise or lower the vote by such a percentage as if 243 votes were cast for it?

For example; if someones weight is 243 and they vote a "9" on an image...is that "9" calculated into the average as if 243 "standard" users voted for it?

RE: Please un-confuse me LOL

thanks Hahn...you answered my question.

I was not sure if a signature also counted as a raw vote. Read the descriptions of how the voting works but still wondering ;)

If a signature member votes for you does that also count as a raw vote? Or is this just a total coincidence that both voted the same rating?

Thanks peeps...in advance
