Yesterday, I got an email when someone responded to my request for comment. Today and other times recently, I didn't get an email when people left comments on their own.
Do we not get emails when they're quick-comments?

Emails are not generated for quick or vote comments, only for comments that are entered on the comment page. I have a to-do item to build this in as an option to elect to get notifications on those comment types as well.

I used to get notifications when people typed things in. Is that a "vote comment"?
Regardless of terminology, here's my preference:
When people pick something from the list, I don't care whether I get notifications or not.
When someone actually types something into the box on the voting page, it takes more time, so I'd like to know people have done it.
I almost never click the link to actually go to the formal comments page, but I do leave detailed comments in the box on the voting page.
