Where awards are concerned,,how many votes does one need to have a weekly, monthly ,homepage and yearly award? Thanks.

| Here is another question. Once an image recieves the qualifying number of votes then what determines if it recieves an award. For example, I have seen some images with many awards that have a lower score then some with no awards? Thanks

Highest score at the TIME wins. If its for a category, it's the highest average in the category, with the qualifying number of votes, ON THAT DAY (and not previously won an award). If its for a home page award, it's just the highest score of a qualifying photo, ON THE DAY, the awards is given. After that day, the averages may change (up or down).
does this help?

does this help? DanielThink of it as musical chairs for photos. Votes are collected and then every 24 hours the music stops and whichever photo is at the top of the heap is the winner.

That's a great analogy! The only addition is that once you win, you're out of the running.
