| Today I kept getting this message after about 6 or 7 votes saying that there were not enough images in the threshold or buffer, therefore not allowing me to vote further until more images were uploaded. But in a couple of hours I got +40 votes for me, so how am I suppose to keep up with the voting ratio (I have a 1.08) if I'm not allowed to vote (I wasn't voting on any particular category by the way). With over 4,000 photographers claiming to belong to the site, I cannot believe that there are not enough images left to vote for... Does anybody have any idea what might be happening here?

There are over 32,000 images in the system, but only about 2,500 active. It is not too difficult to reach the buffer, but if you wait a day or two, there should be enough images added to allow you to vote on.

Jorge (4/17/2008) Today I kept getting this message after about 6 or 7 votes saying that there were not enough images in the threshold or buffer, therefore not allowing me to vote further until more images were uploaded. But in a couple of hours I got +40 votes for me, so how am I suppose to keep up with the voting ratio (I have a 1.08)if I'm not allowed to vote.
There are two was to control your voting ratio. The first is to offer more votes than you receive. This is easy to do as long as you stay under the buffers. After you reach the voting buffer (have voted on ALL but 200 images) you are restricted in your voting until additional images are added to the contest.
The other way to manage your voting ratio is the control the number of votes you receive. This can be done by posting less images or better yet, managing the votes you receive on your entries through actively archiving images that are not in contention for higher level awards. Images with ratings below 7.5 seldom need more than 30 votes to qualify for awards the awards they might earn. Archiving any images that are "out of scoring range" for higher level awards will reduce your voting intake and thus reduce the need for your voting output in order to maintain a positive voting ratio.
