Hello everyone. I was just looking at a few of my photos and other peoples photos in the Nature category and noticed they all got slammed, a few of them (not mine) dropped from a low 8 to a mid 7 in one vote. One of the other photos this person has in the Nature category dropped clean off the top 100 page. This all happened within 10 minutes while I was watching mine drop on my statistics page. This is not the first time this has happened to me or probably others. It is quite obvious this person voting is not getting what they want in that category anymore. Does anyone here have any suggestions what the membership should do about this practice from this person since it is very easy to know who it is? It is a little frustrating to keep putting up with it on a continual basis. So if you see an image of mine resubmitted it is because I'm tying to sneek it past this person because it does a lot of damage for no reason, so please don't get mad or upset with me.

Thanks as always to the members of DA for their help and support.

Hey Bob - I've certainly been thinking along the same lines recently...... in an attempt to overcome the low votes.

Unless the weather improves a lot here in the near future then I'll certainly be re-submitting recently submitted photos and giving them a second chance. In saying that, I'll maybe re-crop or adjust the colour slighltly to validate it as a different image.

Anybody remember the game "Battleship?" - cos DA is turning into a strategy game! When's the best time to avoid the battalion of low voters?

No sooner have you thought that you've mastered it ...........then some bampot pops up with a silly score - SCREEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!

Surely other members get as frustrated too?

SS,

I hope people don't think that I am complaining about my votes and photos, because I'm very grateful for how well I have done here in a short time and for not being in this hobby very long. I trying to also look out for the fairness to other people and their hard work. So hopefully everyone can figure out who this  person is and deal with it appropriately. so everyone take care and talk at you later.

Yes, Sunnyside, this is a game of strategy.  While many of us strategize how to make a better photo, other strategize how to rate a higher score.

Bob, I don't think it wise to solicit  the entire membership to help you get revenge on me.  And yes, it is easy to know who I am as my name is printed out in English right next to the vote.  Since this post will most likely lead to an argument and most likely get quite nasty, I think it best to move it now to debate.  There I will be happy to duke it out with you and explain to you why I vote most of your images a 6.

Bob and Sunnyside, I will see you over in debate.

Hey Deborah,

Move this to debate if you choose. I'm just wondering what makes you think I was talking about you? Do you have a guilty conscience? I was not even talking about my photos, I was talking about somebody elses photos that I saw falling off the top 100 at the same time I was looking at mine.

.

My suggestion would be to be appreciative of everyone offering votes into the contest and to not dwell on any single vote or voter.  It takes a mix of all votes to establish a rating for an image.  If everyone rated a shot the same value, based on the same criteria we would only need one vote per entry to determine ratings.  Calling out individual votes or voters in the forum seems disrespectful.  WE

Deborah, I can assure you that it DEFINITELY IS NOT YOU, that Bob is speaking about. No need for any debate moving here. .

Kiwi, thanks for the info. Perhaps you can enlighten me here. I've already moved the thread to debate as I will defend the other voter being attacked.
