I have recently run into two things which are rather baffling and I can't figure them out. Maybe someone can offer some insight on either or both.

1. Camera Switching ISO by itself.
On two separate occasions after turning on my camera and shooting several pictures, I noticed that my ISO was set to 1600. I didn't set it to that myself and the last setting was on 100. This has happened twice! No one else has access to my camera as I lock it in my office when I am not here and no one comes in. My g/f being the only person who knows the code to my lock, wouldn't have any reason to touch my camera.

2. Save for Web Inconsistent with pics.
Sometimes and only SOMETIMES when I use Save for Web from Photoshop, the colors get de-saturated and the image looks too sharp after uploading to the web. It looks different than the one in photoshop, whereas sometimes they look just like the one in photoshop.

Anyone? Anyone?

Well, that is very interesting indeed...Wish I could help with your anomalies.

Is it possible for digital cameras to get bugs?

Ability can take you to the top, but it takes character to keep you there.

LOL..I have to laugh,,,,welcome to my world ....

As far as your ISO...which camera do you have?..

Okay well with mine,,On several occassions I have had things switch,,,just due to where my hand rests on the right side of the XTi I can accidentally push the buttons and switch stuff around without even knowing it..Ruined 300 pics one week cause of the ISO bein on 1600 while shootin in the day hours....

So I am guessin that is your issue..maybe not but maybe so......

As far as Photoshop...well you have now entered the

TWIGHLIGHT ZONE

Check your settings in the following manner. This would explain the shift in on screen presentation.

On your ISO settings anomaly, you should check your firmware version to see if a new one exists.

Thanks for the help so far. I always use the Windows Color Settings in the Save for Web Dialog. Have been doing that since I started calibrating my monitor.

And, I have a 20D and the most recent firmware.

I don't think I could accidentally change my ISO. I suppose it's possible but the button to get to it is in a place that I don't normally go near and that it is actually kind of hard to get to. It's more likely I would change my servo settings because I would have to accidentally press that button and then roll the dial on the back of the camera what...4 Clicks? Servo settings are same button but dial near shutter release. Would be hard not to notice that I am doing that. Also, it seems like it happens after shutting off the camera and then when it comes back on, it's at 1600.

Recommend you use the document profile color. When you save an image, it gives you the option to embed the color profile.

Good to know. That may be the problem. I will do that from now on and see how things turn out. Thanks!

I will check that. I always use manual mode with my camera. I am not aware of a custom function for auto ISO when in Manual mode but I will check for one...

No. I looked at all the custom functions and none turn your ISO to an automatic setting if you are in manual mode.

I did learn something interesting though in the meantime about custom function 02.

I knew it was for long exposure noise reduction but didn't know how it worked. If you take a pic of 1 second or more, it takes a second pic with the shutter closed and superimposes it on the first. I was wondering why my camera took so long to show me a preview when I did long exposures. Now I know.

Still haven't figured out that ghost in the machine thing though.
